Concurrent Engineering

Writer: Irfaan HaffejeeIrfaan Haffejee

Concurrent engineering is a method used in design to run processes is simultaneously rather than consecutively, which in turn reduces the development time which would reduce wait, this would lead to improved productivity and reduce costs. This type of design strategy is a long-term strategy. Concurrent engineering's reduction of production time gives customers the ability to market their products first as well as discover potential issues earlier due to the design process happening simultaneously. It can be fixed rather quickly.
